Many people become more sedentary as they become older, with an increasing ageing population there needs to be greater consideration of opportunities to improve health and wellbeing. Increased activity in this group not only offers advantages in terms of health and wellbeing, but also aids healthy ageing, lessens the risk of trips and falls and increases the likelihood of independent living, bringing potential benefits to the NHS and social care. This seminar will explore the latest interventions, research and evidence demonstrating how the removal of barriers to activity is supporting successful outcomes for older adults.
