Loretta Sollars

Loretta is Deputy Head of Children, Young People and Families in the Life Course team at Public Health England. She holds responsibility for school age children. The two priority topics for this team are childhood obesity – supporting the implementation of the Childhood Obesity Plan; and the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people – supporting NHSE and others to take a prevention approach to preventing mental illness and maintaining wellbeing. Loretta has previously worked in local government - holding broad analysis and policy development roles and managed public health and sports development functions. She also has significant experience of community sports development, having held roles as a Regional Director for Sport England and Head of Development for England Athletics. Loretta holds masters degrees in Public Administration and Applied Sports Science.
