Chris started his love of physical activity when he embarked on and completed a BSc Hons degree in Sport and Exercise Science, but with a love of rehabilitation and assisting people to return to function he then continued his studies and completed a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy. He has since worked in numerous specialities but really honed his skills in the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy which allowed him to work with many sports people and members of the public who wanted to return to physical activity. Over the last 3 years he has specialised in the area of geriatrics and falls prevention, and he feels it is very important that older people are supported and encouraged to participate in physical activity and exercise as often as possible. In fact, activity and exercise are the main tools he now uses to help his older patients and he is trying hard to demonstrate to as wide an audience as possible that older people can thrive when exercising if they are empowered to do so.
He is also the editor of Agility which is the journal for physiotherapists who specialise in the care of older people, has delivered a TEDx talk on older persons care, is currently completing an MSc in Quality and Patient Safety and is a keen runner, swimmer and gym goer.
