Future Fit: Are protein supplements necessary for people who exercise?

Invariably when I am speaking, whatever the audience, I sense an uneasy shift in the room when I start to speak about protein. No other area of nutrition elicits such passion or such strongly held views. Dietary protein is a very well researched area and in this presentation I aim to outline the things we know to be true and to separate them from the things that are not yet proven. It will cover practical information on the best way to include protein in the diet and how protein fits into the nutrition plan of a regular gym goer. We will also discuss whether there are certain amino acids or protein types that are more beneficial than others and whether protein needs vary when routines change.
