Workplace wellness: starting with the human spine remedying pain and posture
Thursday 18th June 10:15 - 10:45
Many of the working population are succumbing to back pain due to the physical strains of sedentary working lives. Sitting is the worst position for our spine and standing still for prolonged period isn't much better - the human body is not designed to be sedentary.
In this session we will explore the pathophysiological impact - what is happening to the spine, what causes pain in the office; preventative injury interventions and how to respond; what goes wrong and why and the key steps to improve pain and posture; and the impact of sustainable exercise to counter balance the effects of position.
