Thursday 10th May - 14:40-15:10
The mind is not only responsible for our cognitive functions: perception, thinking, judgement and memory. What happens in the mind also has a significant effect on our body: ageing, immune function, sleep and energy levels are all impacted.
The challenges of modern life can affect our state of mind, and health and performance can suffer as a result – but there are ways to combat this. Studies show that meditation has measurable health benefits, as well as reducing anxiety and stress, aiding learning and memory, and improving attention and focus. This session will explore the evidence behind these benefits and provide insight into different meditation techniques.
