Andrew was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Welsh Sports Association in August 2022. He graduated with a Sports Degree in 2002 from Cardiff Met. University and then spent a year as the Student Union President. Andrew then embarked upon a sports career with the Football Association of Wales in 2003 and was promoted into the leadership team as the Head of Competitions, at the age of 29 – a role in which he continued until July 2022. Andrew also continued with his education during this time and completed both the Certificate and Diploma of Football Management from the University of Lausanne in 2012 and 2013. From 2013, Andrew has also acted as a UEFA Venue Director working in a key role on site at UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches. In this role, Andrew has worked at some of the biggest clubs in England including Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal and has worked with European giants such as Real Madrid, AC Milan and Juventus. Since joining the Welsh Sports Association, the team have worked hard to grow the organisation, with membership having increased by 20% and membership revenues by 54%. Andrew has also created the inaugural WSA Sports Industry Awards which has been an overwhelming success and the event brings to life the Association’s three core strategic goals of Collaborate, Develop and Promote.
