Andrew is a motivated and passionate sports professional that has led GLL’s swimming programme since 2007, and overseen growth from 20 to 149 facilities with pools- becoming the UK’s largest Operator of Swimming pools.
Andrew now leads a team of Sport and Aquatic experts, developing products and programmes providing a strong foundation for GLL’s facilities to accommodate 50 million+ visits a year and deliver a strong sporting pathway throughout its estate, supporting the work of numerous National Governing Bodies and other key stakeholders..
Although working closely with NGB’s to align objectives around participation and sports development, he has consistently challenged the norm and innovated sports programming and products to increase usage, improve customer engagement and develop sustainable facilities and services.
Andrew has also led on a number of commercial partnerships linked to GLL’s sporting products. These include Tesco’s, Tui, Capri Sun, Matey, Up&Go and Speedo.
Well regarded by key stakeholders across the industry, Andrew is a lead member of the Swim England National Operators Forum and All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Swimming, Chairs the Lobby/Access sub group for Sport England’s Swimming Collaboratorium and also sits on UK Active’s Everyone Can Taskforce.
