In recent years, though accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic, the fitness industry has placed great importance on fitness not just being for the already fit and active, but for those in the wider community who need extra support hitting their fitness goals.
“The School of Health is a vital step towards evolving how we train our workforce. We need to equip individuals with the skills they need to work with the public in a more holistic way. Seeing beyond purely fitness, they can consider a whole person approach and move towards providing a true national wellness service” Elaine Briggs, Director of Training, Education and Innovation at Future Fit Training
Future Fit have developed their new School of Health syllabus to fit this growing industry need, including courses that can lead to positions within the NHS, such as level 4 Low Back Pain and Exercise Referral.
Elaine Briggs goes on to say that “The suite of courses and qualifications within the School of Health answers on the asks of employers and individual instructors alike. We seek to bring all elements of health together, to empower our workforce to deliver on physical, mental and nutritional health outcomes”

He has been influential in creating a ‘Living Longer, Better’ course that centres around training adults over 65; to reflect the fitness needs of a consistently aging population.
Students of these courses will be able to benefit from to knowledge and confidence gained in how to help clients with complex needs. The skills gained on these courses to better aid client’s physical and mental health, such as obesity and diabetes management and the mental health awareness course, can improve trainer’s potential earnings by increasing their client base.
