Active IQ to exhibit and speak at Elevate

Active IQ is both exhibiting and speaking at the Elevate conference on May 8th and 9th. On Stand P75, the Active IQ team will discuss:

  • The many opportunities for employers and training providers including Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 physical activity qualifications
  • How to maximise new physical activity-related Apprenticeship Standards and prepare for End-point Assessment.
  • Active IQ Skills Hub for CPD and Professional Recognition
  • The merits of the Level 2 Mental Health Awareness qualification

Mental Health Awareness training for employers, training providers, learners and employees is of paramount importance.Active IQ recognises the need for the leisure industry to be alert to members, visitors and colleagues who may need support with managing mental ill-health.Its Chief Medical Adviser, Dr Dane Vishnubala, was involved in developing the Level 2 Mental Health Award and is chairing a seminar and speaking on the topic at the Elevate Conference on May 9.

Dane will lead the conversation in a seminar entitled Ending the stigma of mental ill-health & the role of physical activity in promoting positive mental wellbeing. He will be joined by Lorna Tweed from Loughborough University and Rob Stephenson from InsideOut.Together they will explain the significant and measurable impact physical activity can have on managing and preventing mental ill-health. Dane will also explain the opportunity – and responsibility - for trainers and employers in the health and fitness sector to upskill to know how to spot symptoms, offer support, understand better and engage more fully with their members and colleagues.

The seminar will take place from 13:50 to 14:30 in the Maximising Performance & Wellbeing stream.
