Dr Amit D Mistry
Dr Amit D Mistry is a Sports and Lifestyle Psychiatrist. He works in a Specialist Eating Disorders service and supports patients with mental illness and disordered eating behaviours. He holds an honorary clinical lectureship post with Queen Mary University London (QMUL) on Sports & Exercise Medicine (SEM) and is on the Executive committee of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) Sport & Exercise Special Interest Group (SEPSIG).
In 2018, he was nationally shortlisted for the RCPsych Specialist Doctor of the year award. He has published an accredited education module for psychiatrists on exercise interventions for mental illness and recently published the first ever cross-sectional study exploring wellbeing in the UK Sport, Leisure and Fitness (SL & F) Industry. Amit is a keen sportsman and has previously played Rugby Tag and Rugby Union at International (Team GB 2015-2017) and county level.
