Dr Dane Vishnubala
Dr Dane Vishnubala is a GP at the Haxby Group in York, an NHS Sport and Exercise Medicine doctor in Yorkshire. He has a keen interest in Public Health and is the Public Health England, Clinical Lead for Yorkshire on the Clinical Champion for Physical Activity Programme. He is also the Royal College of GPs (RCGP) Clinical Support Fellow for Physical Activity and Lifestyle and a British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine (BASEM) Executive Member. Dane also has 15 years experience in the Health and Fitness industry as an exercise professional working in exercise referral and is currently Chief Medical Advisor for awarding organisation Active IQ. 8 years ago he founded Core Fitness Education, a vocational fitness industry qualification training company and is still actively involved in teaching and training the tutors.
He is currently the GB Basketball Men’s senior team doctor and the England Football Women’s U16 Doctor. He has previously worked in rugby league for Leeds Rhinos Academy and York Knights Senior Mens Teams and in football for Leeds United and York City Football Club. Dane’s other main interest is medical education and he teaches for the Hull York Medical School, Leeds Beckett University and is the curriculum lead for Leeds University’s MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
