London Sport partner with Elevate

Elevate are delighted to be partnering with London Sport

London Sport works in partnership with London’s local authorities and other organisations to provide opportunities for less active adults to be active and for young people to develop a positive physical activity habit for life.

Supported by Sport England and the Mayor of London, they’re focused on those from under-represented and under-served communities who face the most barriers to participation.

London Sport tackles the inequalities that exist in terms of access and opportunity in physical activity and sport but also bring physical activity and sport as a solution to wider societal inequalities. Every Londoner deserves the physical, mental and social benefits of an active life and we will use place-based working to bring these benefits to certain groups and communities of inactive Londoners.

This partnership is driven by Elevate and London Sport's common belief that physical activity and sport have the power to help people live happier, healthier lives. Elevate’s annual event in London’s Excel centre acts as an ideal hub for the London Sport community to gather and participate in the national conversation about sport – from local communities to broader businesses.

London Sport is delighted to support Elevate 2023. As the UK’s largest trade show dedicated to fitness, sport and physical activity, it is a great opportunity to learn from peers, share solutions and discuss product innovations.

Christopher Donkin, Strategic Lead - Facilities and Urban Spaces at London Sport, and Pippa Nicholas, Impact and Learning Manager at London Sport, will be presenting key findings from their "Space for Girls" project - a project that seeks to tackle the barriers to activity that many women and girls face. One innovative solution they have taken is to transform an empty shopping unit into a space for women and girls to enjoy activities in a safe, accessible and engaging environment.
