Monday, January 16 has seen the launch of the 2023 Workforce State of Mind Survey. Open to anyone working within fitness and active leisure, the Survey can be accessed from workplacementalwealth.com. The research explores the mental wellbeing of people at all levels of the workforce as well as asking employers about approaches to protecting and supporting the mental health of their teams.
Lindsey Simpson, co-founder at Workplace Mental Wealth and curator of the State of Mind Survey, says: “A great deal has happened nationally and globally since we last surveyed the sector in early 2022 and this year it will be fascinating to see how positive and negative factors are affecting wellbeing. Our core questions enable us to identify year on year patterns, and our new questions help us understand the impact of recent events. So, for example, this year with the cost-of-living crisis impacting so many, we’re exploring financial wellbeing in more depth. We also include opportunities for those who want to add their own comments; helping us to gather greater insight into the stories behind the numbers.
“The survey is anonymous, quick and easy to complete, and the results will be shared via a free download from the Workplace Mental Wealth website mid-March, 2023.”
The survey is open to anyone that does paid work in the sector, employed or freelance, and the authors hope to again see participation across all roles, from apprentices and the front line to the boardroom. All employers are encouraged to take part too to help map the varied perspectives of operators, suppliers and membership bodies across the sector.
This is the third time Workplace Mental Wealth, owners of the Survey, have invited the sector to come together and shine a light on the mental wellbeing of those working in the sector and understand the perspective of employers.
The 2023 State of Mind Survey is, again, officially backed by CIMSPA. Active IQ and Myzone have returned for a second year as official Supporters and are joined by Alliance Leisure and Les Mills.
Katie Lewis, co-founder at Workplace Mental Wealth, adds: “It has always been important that we are able to share the results of the survey with everyone, free of change. Without the help of our Supporters this just would not be possible. This year, the 2023 Survey results will be published mid-March.
The 2023 State of Mind Survey is open now and closes on February 10, 2023. Complete it at workplacementalwealth.com
