Susie Marriott has been Commercial Director at ServiceSport for the past 7 years. Prior to working with ServiceSport, her background was outside of the fitness industry, designing, bidding and implementing large outsourcing projects. Susie found opportunities to enhance the ability to manage fitness equipment estates an exciting and fulfilling engagement and, alongside the ServiceSport team works with their partners, auditing and analysing the economic and operational lifespan of gym equipment, ensuring existing equipment is fully utilised and efficiently managed. The backdrop to Susie’s working brief is as follows: ‘It is rare in current fitness industry conditions, to find a large fitness operator who has just one make or model of equipment in their estate, which is purchased and replaced every 5-7 years and that stays in the same gym it was installed in for its whole lifetime. Operators are buying, selling, winning and losing contracts which means equipment often is ‘inherited’ rather than chosen as part of a fitness equipment procurement strategy. It is my mission to provide solutions which mean out of warranty fitness equipment is tracked, located in the most appropriate location, working and looking good.’ Since 2011, Susie has supported some of the largest fitness equipment estates in the UK manage their fitness equipment effectively, including Nuffield Health, Ministry of Defence, GLL and most recently Serco.
