Evidence Base

Getting people more active more often is key to improving the health of the nation. Creating an evidence base is essential for growing engagement for physical activity. For successful engagement there is a need to understand the evidence base, which supports the connections between physical activity and health improvement. Practical guidance and best practice will be shared through the Evidence Base illustrating the evidence and data which supports the benefits of physical activity for mental and muscular skeletal health, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, oncology and the benefits of a physically active childhood.

With talks and case studies from leading academics, the ukactive research institute and the physical activity sector the Evidence Base will share the latest thinking and evidence connecting physical activity and health, whilst exploring scalable approaches and solutions.
